Summary
The SAFE COMBAT project is a aimed at creating tools for all stakeholders to train and compete in safe surroundings excluding all types of harassment and abuse. Although harassment and abuse occur in all types of sports, combat sports & martial arts deserve some special attention due to their specific risk factors. Safeguarding code for COMBAT sports and martial arts (SAFE-COMBAT) aims to promote a safe environment for athletes from different CS&MA. By providing awareness, guidance, and support to sports clubs and technical staff (coaches, young workers, and volunteers), the project contributes to the human development and welfare of young athletes.
The partnership is working to develop the safeguard code and an educational Massive Open Online Course (MOOC) tailored to the realities of CS&MA. The project culminates in a unique European certification system for clubs that comply with the defined safeguarding standards, aiming to enhance protection and wellbeing for CS&MA athletes and foster a strong transnational network for promoting positive values in sport.
